Publicly rendered the world's first sliding smartphone, courtesy Oppo

Whenever a report is made on a rollable design phone, the name of the smartphone maker Oppo is uttered. That is to say, a phone with a rollable display or a phone with a new form factor, the company is now in the headlines due to technological advances. Last month at the annual conference Inno Day unveiled a concept smartphone with a rollable screen called the Oppo, X 2021. Oppo said without any curiosity about when the phone will be launched, they have no plans to launch this rollable phone commercially in the near future. However, there is still a lot of cards left in Oppo’s sleeve with a rollable design phone. That theory is further reinforced by the recent render of an excellent sliding phone of Oppo Roleble design at CNIPA.

Named the Oppo X TOM FORD, this sliding phone was first spotted by LetsGoDigital. Note that Oppo patented a sliding phone with a display that could be expanded in August this year. That being said, Oppo designed the phone in collaboration with popular American designer and image maker Tom Ford. However, Oppo has not yet issued a statement on such an initiative.

However, let’s come to the context of the phone. According to the render, the phone will come in attractive brown tones and the phone has a vertically expandable body. The camera module on the back panel of the phone is inscribed with the text “Oppo X Tom Ford – Design For Concept Shakira”. When the phone is unfolded, it will have a smaller display than a tablet but a larger display than a normal smartphone.

In the render of Oppo X TOM FORD, no notch or hole was noticed for the selfie camera on the screen of the phone. As a result, it is believed that an under display selfie camera has been provided here. The back of the phone has a triple camera setup. The camera module is placed horizontally. This information about the phone has come to us so far. However, it remains to be seen whether this phone with a great design is really going to come in the market or whether it will remain as a concept phone in itself.
