If you owned a $1,000 drone, would you fly it into the mouth of a volcano? Perfectly, you don’t have to, mainly because photographerdid it for you. He took his 4K DJI drone so close to the mouth of Icelandic volcano Fagradalsfjall that component of the drone melted. Luckily, he caught it all on video clip.
The video appears like one thing out of a movie, with rigorous orange-red lava, a soot-lined volcano, and a backdrop of snowy white peaks. In an interview with, Ólafs suggests “I gradually decreased the drone until eventually all I could see was erupting lava, and when I looked up, I did not see the drone anymore.” Yeah dude, you flew it into a volcano!
While Ólafs’ drone nevertheless flies, one particular of its lights does not perform, and some of its sensors (which include the impediment-avoidance sensor, which will have to have been going nuts within the volcano) are no longer practical.
