Kawsaki’s popular entry level performance motorbike Ninja 300 BS6 is set to launch in India in the first quarter of next year in BS6 incarnation. This is according to a recent report by Autocar India.
Two years ago Kawasaki was able to launch the bike in India quite cheaply by localizing the body panels, brakes, headlights, and tires of the Ninja 300 BS4. As a result, it is easy to see why Kawasaki is now focusing on localization. In that case, the BS6 version of the bike may use the Made in India engine component. Presumably, the Ninja 300 BS6 will launch cheaper than its predecessor.
The Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 bike is not expected to change much, either cosmetically or mechanically. After the BS6 update, its 296 cc parallel twin engine will produce 39 PS of power and 26 Nm of torque as before. ই The engine with speed gearbox will have assist and slipper clutch.
The Ninja 300 BS6 will also remain unchanged in terms of suspension and braking setup. As before, there will be 290mm disc brakes on the front wheels and 220mm disc brakes on the rear wheels with dual channel ABS. The bike has a telescopic fork on the front and a preload adjustable psychic suspension on the rear. The weight of the bike is also likely to increase slightly from 189 kg for the BS6 update.
As mentioned earlier, the Ninja 300 with BS6 engine will be launched cheaper than its predecessor. In that case, its ex-showroom price may be around Rs 2.50 lakh.
