From today, millions of people will no longer be able to use Microsoft Teams

American multinational technology company Microsoft provides video conferencing services among other services. Microsoft’s Teams is a well-known platform for video conferencing in the professional world. But this time a large number of users will have to face some problems to use Teams. Users who use Teams through Internet Explorer are basically going to have problems in this case. Today, from November 30, Microsoft Teams will no longer work in Internet Explorer 11. So those who have been using Microsoft Teams in Internet Explorer 11 for so long need to use Teams in Microsoft Edge browser.

Incidentally, Microsoft has already made various efforts to increase the number of users of their own browser Edge. This is one of the reasons why Internet Explorer users are shutting down teams. This will force Teams users to use Microsoft Edge through Internet Explorer.

Microsoft announced these upcoming changes in a blog post a few months ago. They also wrote in the blog that not only Microsoft Teams, but also Microsoft 365 services for Internet Explorer 11 will be shut down. This rule will be introduced from August 16 next year. In addition, the older version of Microsoft Edge, also known as the Legacy version, has been discontinued since March 9. As a result, Microsoft is focusing on their new Chromium-powered Microsoft Edge. Of course, Internet Explorer 11 is not shutting down completely, but obviously its effectiveness will be further reduced as a result of this change.

“We’re announcing that Microsoft 365 apps and services will no longer be supported in Internet Explorer 11 (IE 11) from next year. The Microsoft Teams web app will no longer support IE 11 from November 30, 2020. Also, from August 16, 2021, the remaining Microsoft 365 apps will be closed for IE 11. ”
