In July this year, telecom service provider Vi launched e-SIM service for its postpaid customers. At that time Vi customers of these three telecom circles – Delhi, Mumbai and Gujarat – could avail this service. But recently VI has launched this service in three more telecom circles. As a result, VI postpaid customers in six circles will be able to use the eSIM feature from now on.
The three circles that have recently launched Vi e-SIM services are – Karnataka, Punjab and Maharashtra and Goa. Note that eSIM is a type of integrated SIM chip through which we can use data plans and other services of different telecom operators.
Needless to say, e-SIM support is not available on all smartphones. This feature can be used on certain devices. These devices include – Apple iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone Xr, iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, Motorola razr , Samsung Galaxy Z Flip, Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 and Google Pixel 3A etc.
As mentioned earlier, using the e-SIM feature allows one to access data, calling and other services of any network operator. For this you do not have to buy a separate physical SIM card. VI postpaid customers can easily avail eSIM service. In this case any one of the above smartphones will be required. This service can be launched by following a few steps via SMS on a smartphone with e-SIM support.
