Melbourne earthquake: Tremor hits southeast Australia

magnitude 5.9 earthquake has hit south-east Australia triggering injury in Melbourne.

The quake strike northeast of Australia’s second-most populous town close to the city of Mansfield.

Primary Minister Scott Morrison mentioned “we have had no experiences of severe injuries and that is extremely good news”.

Media showed photographs of hurt to brickwork in Chapel Street in the internal suburb of South Yarra.

As very well as Victoria, the earthquake was also felt in neighbouring South Australia and New South Wales (NSW).
