MIUI 12 update will not come to these four phones including Redmi 6A, find out the reason

Popular smartphone brand Xiaomi announced its new custom skin MIUI 12 earlier this year. Then last June, this MIUI update based on Android 10 for Indian users started rolling out. In India, we have been hearing for a long time that the update of MIUI 12 stable version will be available on around 50 Xiaomi devices. Already multiple Redmi, Mi or POCO phone users have also got the opportunity to use this new custom skin feature. But now Xiaomi has officially announced that the MIUI 12 update will not be offered on some of the brand’s phones in India.

According to reports, Xiaomi has canceled this update for four Redmi phones. These phones are Redmi 7, Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi Y3. These phones came on the market last year or earlier.

Earlier in May, the company announced that these four phones would receive a stable update of MIUI 12 in the second phase. But now Xiaomi has said through its official telegram channel that these phones will not be given new updates due to compatibility and performance issues.

By the way, Xiaomi launched Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A phones in the Indian market in 2016. Of these, the Redmi 6A became the company’s best-selling entry-level smartphone in 2016 and 2019. These two phones run on MediaTek Helio P22 and Helio A22 chipsets respectively. On the other hand, Redmi Y3 and Redmi 7 phones came in the market last year. Both phones have Snapdragon 732 processors. So this sudden decision of Shaomi has naturally aroused the annoyance in the minds of the users.

However, there is no reason for smartphone users to get confused after hearing this news. Because these four devices currently run on Android 10 based MIUI 11 OS. Moreover, Xiaomi has not announced that all updates for these phones will be canceled.
