Ever since TickTock was banned in India, many have come up with an alternative platform to TickTock. Reels are now quite popular on Facebook short videos and Instagram. Now the multimedia app Snapchat is going to launch a feature like TickTock, which has been named Spotlight. This feature allows Snapchat users to create short videos like TickTock. These videos will be combined to create a separate video feed. And you will not need a separate app for this. These videos can be created within the Snapchat app. Let’s find out more about this spotlight feature.
Snapchat’s Spotlight feature
According to Snapchat, Spotlight videos must be at least 60 seconds long. The video also asks you to use lenses, captions, sound, GIFs, etc. to make the snaps look more fun. Snapchat has come up with this feature mainly for the entertainment of the viewers. By the way, you can’t make any public comments on Spotlight’s Snap videos. Moreover, these videos will be moderated regularly so that the community standard is not violated in any way.
Let me tell you here, if you make a video through Snapchat’s Spotlight feature, you will also get a reward. Snapchat wrote in their blog post, “Submit your best video snaps to the spotlight and share the ১ 1 million prize shared among creators every day.” Snapchat will share this prize according to the views of each video. In this case, a comparison will also be made with the number of views in other popular videos of the day.
However, to make money, the video maker must be over 18 years of age. Moreover, the video has to be recorded in a vertical position with sound. Creators need to use the name of the topic with a hashtag in the final post so that viewers can easily find the video snaps.
Snapchat’s Spotlight feature is currently available in a total of 11 countries. These include the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany, France and the United Kingdom. Snapchat plans to make this feature available in other countries around the world in the future.
