At present, every smartphone brand is trying to make their devices attractive. Oppo is one of the brands that deserves praise in this regard. In recent times, this Chinese smartphone brand has been working to bring about fancy changes in the design of its smartphones. Just a few days ago, the company introduced the idea of a rollable display smartphone. But they do not stop here! According to reports, Oppo has recently filed a patent for a smartphone with a removable camera module. Ninety-one mobiles found the patent on the World Intellectual Property Office’s website.
Oppo’s new patent includes pictures and some details of how the smartphone will work. One of the pictures shows a regular camera module on the back panel of the phone. However, the interesting thing is that this camera module can be removed from the base or top of the phone via the USB Type-C port. Another image, meanwhile, shows how the camera module can be moved to a 90-degree or 180-degree angle via a USB Type-C connector. Many think that the Oppo bendable design will probably be similar to the camera module of the Asus 6Z smartphone, which will allow users to take pictures from different angles.
Not only that, the patent looks like this camera module can come with a lithium battery and can be charged as needed. It can also support wireless technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and NFC.
That being said, these patents may not be converted into commercial products. The removable camera is certainly an interesting concept, but it’s not uncommon for the company to be curious about how it uses this technology. In this context, brands like LG or Motorola have been working on this type of modular camera design before. So let’s see how much innovation Appo brings in the coming days!
