British premium motorcycle maker Triumph is set to launch the Trident 660 roadster in India in the first half of next year. Pre-booking of the bike has also started at the dealership of Triumph for Rs 50,000. Triumph said the money is 100 percent refundable until the price of the Trident 660 is announced. Triumph has also announced a special finance scheme on the bike. Under this scheme, the bike can be bought at an EMI of Rs 9,999. This offer is for a limited time.
After the Street Triple R and Street Triple RS, it will be the next bike in Triumph’s roadster range in India. After launch, Trident 660 is going to be Triumph’s cheapest bike in India. In Britain, the Triumph Trident 660 bike is priced at ৭ 8,195, which is around Rs 7.98 lakh in Indian currency. It is available in Matte Jet Black & Silver Ice, Crystal White, Sapphire Black and Silver Ice Diablo Red color options.
The Trident 660 bike has a liquid-cooled 60cc in-line triple cylinder engine that is capable of producing a maximum of 60 bhp (60 kW) of power at 10,000 rpm and up to 64 Nm of torque at 8,250 rpm. The engine comes with a 6-speed gearbox with slip and assist clutch. The Trident 660 bike features a TFT instrument panel that will offer speed, tachometer, gear position, indicator, fuel gauge readout. There are also self-canceling indicators with full LED lighting (headlights, taillights), riding mode (road and rain), adjustable traction control, ride by wire, etc.
The Triumph Trident 660 bike has a bedside upside down fork for suspension and a preload adjustable psychic RSU. The front wheels of the Trident 660 will have twin 310mm floating disc brakes with Nissin two-piston sliding caliper and the rear wheels will have single 310mm disc brakes with Nissin single-piston sliding caliper. The bike has also been given a dual channel ABS setup.
